Rep Flores focuses on evidence for VP Duterte’s impeachment

A member of the House prosecution panel for Vice President Sara Duterte’s impeachment trial expressed that they are focusing on securing evidence rather than worrying about the outcome influenced by upcoming midterm elections.

Rep. Jonathan Keith Flores stated during an online press conference that their current focus is winning local campaigns, and they will rely solely on the evidence presented in the trial.

Flores noted that if more of Vice President Duterte's allies win Senate seats, it would make securing a conviction challenging due to potential bias among senator-judges who consider public opinion.

Despite these concerns, Flores emphasized the importance of relying on solid evidence and stressed that their work remains unaffected by election results or public sentiment.

The impeachment trial preparations continue as planned, with prosecutors concentrating on gathering and presenting strong evidence regardless of political outcomes.
