Rep Benitez complaint dismissed for lack of evidence

A complaint against Bacolod Rep. Albee Benitez for alleged violation of Republic Act No. 9262 has been dismissed by the Makati City Prosecutor's Office on Wednesday, July 9.

Assistant City Prosecutor Mikhail Maverick Tumacder stated that Dominique Lopez-Benitez did not provide enough evidence to support her claims regarding emotional and psychological abuse.

Lopez accused Benitez of infidelity with celebrities including Ivana Alawi and financial control but prosecutors found insufficient evidence for a conviction, citing the complainant's lack of concrete proof such as photos and media clippings.

Benitez welcomed the dismissal on Thursday, July 10, requesting privacy for his family to move forward away from the controversy.

He also expressed concern over the public naming of individuals accused in the complaint, including actress Ivana Alawi, actress Andrea Del Rosario, and beauty queen Daisy Reyes.
