Remulla calls Roque 'irrelevant'; Malacañang dismisses claims

Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla described former Duterte spokesperson Harry Roque as 'irrelevant' during a chance interview at the DOJ headquarters on Thursday, June 19.

Malacañang downplayed Roque's denial of Remulla's claims about his asylum status in the Netherlands and his comment to 'Come and get me', stating that the government is prepared for any developments.

Roque disputed Remulla's claims again, calling them 'fake news' while the Justice Department awaits further information on his political asylum application in Germany and may no longer pursue extradition if his passport is cancelled.

The cancellation of Roque's Philippine passport is ongoing at the Angeles City Regional Trial Court, and he faces qualified human trafficking charges over his alleged involvement in a POGO hub in Porac, Pampanga.

Roque maintains that his trip to Germany was pre-planned and unrelated to his asylum application in the Netherlands, adding that he has only one valid passport.
