DOH, Palace oppose allowing vaccinated seniors to leave homes

The Department of Health (DOH) and Malacañang on Friday opposed proposals to allow fully vaccinated senior citizens aged 65 and older to leave their homes during the pandemic.

Health Secretary Francisco Duque III stated that a larger portion of the population must be vaccinated before relaxing restrictions for seniors, citing the need for more data on vaccine efficacy.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque emphasized that many seniors have comorbidities, making them particularly vulnerable to COVID-19 and requiring continued caution.
