Rhian Ramos denies NYC Marathon cheating

Actress Rhian Ramos addressed social media allegations that she and her boyfriend Sam Verzosa cheated during the 2024 New York City Marathon.

Ramos shared an email from marathon organizers, New York Road Runners (NYRR), confirming they are official finishers despite missing some timing points due to course delays.

In her Instagram post on Wednesday, Nov. 13, Ramos criticized those spreading false information without verifying facts and encouraged media professionals to avoid fake news.

Ramos emphasized that their participation was for charity with Smile Train and not to compete against anyone's times, raising money for children with clefts.

Despite the challenges, Ramos expressed gratitude for completing the marathon and highlighted the importance of supporting causes over spreading misinformation.

She added that liars and fake news are common but urged Filipinos to focus on uplifting one another towards achieving goals instead.
