Quezon City suspends classes, enforces liquor ban for SONA

Quezon City suspended classes on Monday, July 28, ahead of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s State of the Nation Address (SONA), as ordered by Mayor Joy Belmonte's Executive Order No. 10.

The liquor ban from midnight until 6 p.m. was also enforced to maintain order during the SONA.

Around 12,000 Philippine National Police (PNP) personnel were deployed on July 28 to ensure security during the event.

Several parts of the country remain affected by recent storms with a reported death toll of 25 as of Friday morning, while PAGASA forecasts cloudy skies with rain in Metro Manila on Monday.
