Floods bring waste, disrupt life in Brgy. Tatalon

Massive piles of garbage have accumulated along the streets of Brgy. Tatalon in Quezon City following floods caused by habagat and Typhoon Carina.

Residents blame flooding for bringing waste into their area, with some locals disposing damaged items and garbage on the streets due to lack of proper collection services.

The buildup has led to a foul smell affecting nearby homes and businesses, causing residents like Jenylyn Facul and Ado Santos to worry about health impacts on their families.

Local eatery owner Thea Pola and tricycle driver Oscar Pico Jr. noted that the accumulation of waste is disrupting business operations and leading to traffic congestion in the area.

Kaliraya Street in Tatalon is now impassable for cars, with only motorcycles and tricycles managing to squeeze through due to the large amount of debris.

The barangay council has been in constant communication with the city government on garbage collection efforts, but delays are expected as nearby barangays were also affected by flooding.
