PSEi up 0.05% as investors await Philippines-US trade talks, peso strengthens vs USD

The Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) saw a slight gain on Tuesday, driven by investor caution and anticipation of results from ongoing Philippines-US trade discussions.

The PSEi increased 0.05 percent to 6,355.69 points, while the All Shares index rose 0.10 percent to 3,757.20 points.

Sectoral indices showed mixed performance with Mining and Oil leading gains at 0.90 percent, followed by Property and Financials sectors.

Investors remain cautious as Philippine officials continue discussions in Washington on trade and security cooperation.

The Philippine peso strengthened against the US dollar, closing at 57.05 from 57.17 the previous day.
