PSEi drops 0.62%, ending three-day winning streak; investors take profits

The Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) ended lower on Thursday after a three-day winning streak as investors took profits.

The benchmark PSEi dropped by 0.62 percent or 39.11 points, closing at 6,241.97, while the All-Shares index slipped by 0.26 percent to close at 3,687.05.

Investors' actions were influenced by recent market rallies and the latest inflation report, which showed January's inflation rate at 2.9%, within the BSP's projection range of 2.5% to 3.5%

Sub sectors saw mixed performance with industrial and mining indices rising slightly while others declined.

BDO Unibank Inc., International Container Terminal Services Inc., Aboitiz Power Corp., Ayala Land Inc., Globe Telecom Inc., and SM Investments Corp. were among the most actively traded shares, showing varied performances.
