PSE index ends flat with slight 0.003% uptick, trading volume down

The Philippine Stock Exchange index ended flat on Wednesday, August 20, with a slight uptick of 0.003 percent to close at 6,277.87.

Investors remained cautious and sought possible bargains after recent declines, awaiting further developments from the Federal Reserve for market direction.

Sectoral gauges were mixed, with services gaining 1.65 percent while mining and oil declined by 1.64 percent.

Trading volume decreased to P5.76 billion compared to the previous day's P7.59 billion, with decliners outnumbering advancers 110 to 86.

ICTSI was the most actively traded stock, rising 3.12 percent to P489.80 per share, while DigiPlus and SM Investments saw declines of 5.50 percent and 1.76 percent respectively.
