PSEi resumes upswing; property stocks lead

The Philippine Stock Exchange Index (PSEi) resumed its upswing on Thursday, closing at 6,476.24 after adding 0.57 percent or 36.87 points.

Property stocks led the PSEi higher by 1.6 percent, while industrial, holding firm, and services counters rose by less than 1 percent.

In contrast, the financial counter declined by 1.36 percent and the mining/oil counter lost 0.92 percent.

On Wednesday, the PSEi pulled back to below the 6,400 level, giving up 2.19 percent or 144.47 points due to profit-taking and signals from Wall Street's downturn.
