Pope Jeep from 2015 visit on display at Quiapo Church, moves to Makati Saturday

A 'Pope Jeep' from Pope Francis's 2015 visit to the Philippines is on display at Quiapo Church and will move to San Antonio Parish in Makati City starting Saturday, April 26.

Unlike other popemobiles, this open vehicle allowed Pope Francis to interact closely with the public during his visit.

The 'Pope Jeep' was crafted by Maru Almazora de Ocampo's family as a secret project and an identical version was sent to the Vatican after Pope Francis expressed interest in taking it back to Rome.

Stored in a warehouse facility, it undergoes regular maintenance and remains in excellent condition after 10 years.

The popemobile will be at the Sanctuario de San Antonio parish church in Makati until May 4, offering an opportunity for the public to pay their respects.
