2 policemen placed under restrictive custody for alleged sexual assault of colleague

Two policemen in Marikina City were disarmed and placed under restrictive custody after they allegedly sexually assaulted a policewoman inside a patrol vehicle on August 17.

According to Eastern Police District (EPD) Director Brig. Gen. Aden Lagradante, the suspects picked up the victim for coffee before parking in a secluded area where the incident occurred.

The victim, described as emotionally shaken, initially hesitated to report the incident and filed her complaint five days after the assault, undergoing forensic examination the following day.

Both male officers were reassigned to the District Personnel and Accounting Unit of the Eastern Police District while they are under investigation, according to Marikina Police Chief Col. Geoffrey Lim.

The patrolwoman was also reassigned to another office within the Eastern Police District as part of ongoing investigations.

Administrative and criminal complaints have been filed against both officers.
