Police seize PHP4.6M worth of shabu in multi ops

Police seized P612,000 worth of shabu from an alleged 'high-value' drug trafficker in San Pablo City, Laguna province on Monday, July 7.

In separate buy-bust operations across Quezon and Pampanga provinces on Tuesday and Wednesday, authorities arrested six more suspected high-value traffickers who were found with over P2.746 million worth of shabu and an illegal firearm.

On Thursday, police in Camarines Norte arrested two suspects during a buy-bust operation, seizing suspected shabu with an estimated street value of PHP1.87 million.

The first suspect, alias Pedro from Marikina City, was apprehended along with 275 grams of shabu while the second suspect, Jay from Quezon City, was also arrested during the same operation.

All suspects are currently under police custody and face charges under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Police Regional Office 5 (Bicol) Director Brig. Gen. Andre Dizon emphasized that ongoing drug campaigns in the region remain a priority and that entry and exit points will be closely monitored to prevent drug smuggling.

The total value of seized shabu now amounts to over P4.6 million from these operations.
