Policemen seize P1.15M shabu from traffickers linked to terror groups

On Sunday evening, plainclothes policemen seized P170,000 worth of crystal methamphetamine from two traffickers linked to local terror groups in Barangay Brar, Datu Anggal Midtimbang, Maguindanao del Sur.

Brig. Gen. Romeo J. Macapaz confirmed on Monday that Patrick S. Bitol and Rakim O. Dumamba are in custody awaiting prosecution under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

On Tuesday, Brig. Gen. Macapaz also reported that non-uniformed policemen seized P985,728 worth of crystal methamphetamine from Amir Kasim Upam, who was arrested after a sting operation led by Lt. Col. Esmael A. Madin in Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao del Norte.

Upam was wounded in the abdomen and is now under hospital guard while awaiting prosecution for drug trafficking under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

These operations highlight ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking and terrorism in conflict-prone regions of the Philippines.
