POC takes over billiards from suspended BSCP

The Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) will take over the responsibilities of the suspended Billiards Sports Confederation of the Philippines (BSCP) for up to three months.

The POC, in a statement on Tuesday, confirmed that it will need approval from the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) to continue supporting national billiard athletes during this period.

ACBS, based in Qatar, had suspended BSCP as early as February 18 due to various violations including conflicts of interest and failure to hold elections for an extended period.

Among the issues highlighted were organizing tournaments without proper approvals and neglecting national pool players.

The suspension was officially communicated to the POC last Sunday by ACBS Secretary-General Michael Al-Khoury, who also requested that the POC investigate alleged violations by BSCP.

While the PSC has yet to respond, the POC is ready to step in to ensure continued support for billiard athletes during this interim period.
