Poa ends consultancy with Sara Duterte, cites mutual decision and objectivity concerns

Lawyer Michael Poa announced Tuesday that he is no longer the spokesperson for Vice President Sara Duterte after his consultancy contract was terminated as a mutual decision between both parties.

Poa explained during a House inquiry probing the OVP's alleged misuse of government funds that difficulties in fulfilling his obligations led to the pre-termination, which was set to occur before December.

He emphasized there is no bad blood between him and Vice President Duterte, noting their agreement to end their professional relationship due to concerns over objectivity while also serving as a resource person for hearings.

Poa stated he would like to inform the panel that he is no longer connected with the OVP following the pre-termination of his consultancy contract.

Prior to his role at the OVP, Poa served as Duterte's chief of staff and spokesperson at the Department of Education before resigning in June when the Vice President stepped down from her leadership position.
