PNP says no credible threats against VP Sara Duterte

The Philippine National Police (PNP) has stated there are no credible threats against Vice President Sara Duterte's life.

During a recent interview with Radyo 630 and at a press briefing on Monday, PNP spokesperson Brig. Gen. Jean Fajardo confirmed that the police have not received any documented threat regarding Duterte's safety.

Vice President Duterte previously revealed in an online press conference that she had tasked someone to 'kill' President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, and House Speaker Martin Romualdez if she were assassinated, though she later clarified her statement was not a threat but rather highlighting the alleged threats against her.

The PNP emphasized their readiness to provide security for Vice President Duterte and other government officials as needed due to the inherent risks associated with her position.

Fajardo also stated that the PSC has direct authority over the security of the President and Vice President, and the PNP is prepared to assist if requested by the PSC regarding any documented threats.
