PNP considers random checks at Metro Manila ECQ checkpoints

The Philippine National Police (PNP) is considering conducting random inspections instead of full checks at checkpoints in Metro Manila during the enhanced community quarantine to avoid traffic congestion.

PNP chief Police General Guillermo Eleazar said they will deploy only a skeleton force and conduct random checks, with regular checks during non-rush hour periods.

Eleazar also mentioned the possibility of removing checkpoints altogether and deploying police units where they are needed more, such as vaccination sites and social assistance distribution.
