PNP-HPG arrests Khart for PHP1.5M-PHP2.3M TNVS fraud

The Philippine National Police-Highway Patrol Group (PNP-HPG) arrested an individual on Monday for allegedly defrauding millions of pesos from people applying to be drivers for a TNVS company.

Police Lt. Nadame Malang said the suspect, alias Khart, demanded additional PHP35,000 from victims after promising provisional permits and temporary franchises but later deactivated their accounts.

The PNP-HPG has received around 28 complaints against the suspect who reportedly collected between PHP1.5 million to PHP2.3 million.

Victims are preparing to file a large-scale estafa complaint against the suspect, while police coordinate with TNVS companies and the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) to halt fraudulent operations and investigate potential accomplices within the company.

HPG director Brig. Gen. Eleazar Matta advised those interested in earning money through their private vehicles to directly contact the LTFRB or legitimate transportation network firms for proper procedures.
