PNP: Granular lockdown areas rise to 853

As of Friday, January 28, the number of areas under granular lockdown due to COVID-19 has increased from 556 to 853 across the country.

The majority of these locked down areas are located in Cordillera (338) and Ilocos (316), with significant numbers also in Cagayan (137).

A total of 2,289 people were affected by the restrictions, and the PNP deployed 316 personnel and 1,117 force multipliers to ensure security and adherence to health standards.

Local government units decide whether to impose or lift granular lockdowns based on reported infections.
