PNP eyes joint maritime patrols with Navy, Coast Guard

The Philippine National Police (PNP) is exploring the possibility of integrating its maritime units with the Philippine Navy (PN) and the Philippine Coast Guard to enhance maritime law enforcement.

PNP chief Gen. Rodolfo Azurin Jr. stated that they aim to secure waters against smuggling, human trafficking, and other transnational crimes through joint patrols near the shorelines.

Azurin emphasized the need for a memorandum of understanding with the PCG and PN to focus on securing Philippine boundaries with Malaysia and Indonesia.
