PNP: 1,085 gun ban violators arrested

As of February 14, 2022, the Philippine National Police (PNP) has arrested 1,085 individuals for violating the Comelec's election gun ban.

Most arrests occurred in the National Capital Region with 356 offenders, followed by Central Visayas and Central Luzon with 140 and 121 respectively.

Of those arrested, 1,048 were civilians, while eight were police officers, seven were military personnel, and 13 were security guards.

The PNP confiscated 832 firearms, 5,141 rounds of ammunition, and 382 deadly weapons during 855 operations.

Law enforcers are exempt from the ban if they have Comelec authorization and wear prescribed uniforms.
