PLDT HSH players rescued from Quezon City floods

Heavy rains caused by the southwest monsoon left athletes stranded; PLDT High Speed Hitters players were rescued from their practice gym in Quezon City due to severe flooding on Monday night.

The Philippine Coast Guard and Army assisted in rescuing the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) squad, including players like Majoy Baron, Kim Fajardo, Kath Arado, and Jovyy Prado, from rising floodwaters along G. Araneta Avenue.

Players Mika Reyes and Majoy Baron shared their experience via Instagram and Facebook, expressing gratitude towards those who provided assistance during the rescue operation.

Reyes highlighted that they were stranded for hours but rescuers still came to help them despite the difficult conditions.

The PLDT team was safely brought home and will resume their PVL On Tour campaign against Nxled in Cebu on Saturday.

A state of calamity has been declared in Quezon City due to persistent inclement weather.
