PLDT HS Hitters win first PVL title in five-set thriller

The PLDT High Speed Hitters won their first PVL title by defeating Chery Tiggo in a five-set match on Sunday at the Mall of Asia Arena.

PLDT's victory, which ended years of frustration, came with scores of 25-17, 25-17, 19-25, 24-26, and 15-8.

The team, led by players like Mika Reyes and Majoy Baron, had previously come close to winning but fell short in previous seasons.

Head coach Rald Ricafort attributed the breakthrough to the team's resilience and improvement over time.

Team captain Kath Arado emphasized that the loss from last year served as motivation for PLDT to improve and stay focused throughout the game.
