Japanese firm P.Imes Corp. is expanding its manufacturing operations in the Philippines with an additional PHP1.8 billion investment.
The expansion will increase production capacity of medical equipment at the Cavite Economic Zone, according to the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA).
On February 13, PEZA Director General Tereso Panga and P.Imes president Tetsuya Matsusaki signed a registration agreement for the project, which is expected to create over 200 jobs.
P.Imes will also partner with universities to train future professionals in advanced prototyping skills, promoting innovation in manufacturing.
Since December 2024, P.Imes has invested PHP3 billion in the Philippines, contributing to Japan's status as the top foreign investor in PEZA, which currently hosts over 800 registered Japanese business enterprises and has brought in more than PHP500 billion in investments.
These investments have provided jobs for approximately 300,000 workers and contributed over $15 billion worth of exports in 2024.
