Petro Gazz clinches PVL All-Filipino Conference top seed

Petro Gazz secured the top seed in the 2024 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference after defeating Nxled on Saturday, with MJ Phillips making a triumphant return from her stint in Korea.

Phillips' team finished with a 9-2 win-loss record and 28 points alongside Choco Mucho and Chery Tiggo but clinched the top spot based on tiebreakers.

MJ Phillips contributed 11 points, including crucial late-game scoring in the fourth set, helping Petro Gazz secure their victory over Nxled at PhilSports Arena.

Phillips acknowledged her performance was somewhat shaky but expressed determination for the semifinals, aiming to improve with more practice and form a strong bond with teammate Brooke Van Sickle.

Brooke Van Sickle and Ivy Lacsina continued to showcase impressive offensive skills with 26 and 28 points respectively, while Jonah Sabete added 12 points in support of Phillips.
