Philippines records first monkeypox case

The Philippines recorded its first case of monkeypox in a 31-year-old patient who arrived from abroad on July 19.

As of Monday, August 1, the patient is recovering at home with no more symptoms and waiting for rashes to heal.

DOH identified ten close contacts of the patient, all under daily monitoring without showing any symptoms yet.

A Filipino man in Singapore also tested positive for monkeypox on July 25 after developing symptoms on July 21.
