EU gives P133-M for PH healthcare system

The European Union (EU) is providing around PHP133 million to help strengthen the Philippines' healthcare system for dealing with the coronavirus pandemic.

This aid is part of a three-year program by the EU, which will provide €20.5 million to the World Health Organization (WHO) to support eight priority countries in Southeast Asia.

The grant aims to enhance Philippine health institutions and workers' capacity to manage caseloads while maintaining essential health services, improve diagnostic capacity, epidemiological surveillance, contact tracing, clinical management outcomes, and risk communication.
