Philippines lowers Israel alert from Level 3 to Level 2

On Monday, June 30, 2025, the Philippines downgraded its security alert for Filipinos in Israel from Level 3 to Level 2.

The Department of Foreign Affairs cited positive developments and an easing of conflict as reasons for the change, noting that the measure takes effect immediately following recent improvements.

With over two million Filipino migrants in the Middle East, the DFA welcomed last week's ceasefire agreement between Israel and Iran, which led to a significant reduction in security threats.

Manila expressed hope that this temporary cessation would be a step towards lasting peace in the region, emphasizing the need for continued monitoring of the situation by the Department.

The Philippines has approximately 30,000 mostly Filipino caregivers in Israel and around 1,100 in Iran, with overseas workers now allowed to travel back under certain conditions but restrictions still in place for non-essential travelers.

Under Alert Level 2, Filipinos are urged to restrict non-essential movements, avoid public places, and prepare for potential evacuation while staying in contact with the nearest Philippine Embassy or Consulate.
