DOH reports 3.9k new COVID-19 cases, 38k recoveries

The Department of Health (DOH) reported 3,954 new cases of COVID-19 and 38,075 recoveries on Thursday, July 30.

This marks the first time that daily cases exceeded 3,000 and brings total cases to 89,374 with 65,064 recoveries and 1,983 deaths.

The DOH attributed the high number of recoveries to enhanced data reconciliation efforts with local governments and validation of previously unreported mild and asymptomatic cases.

Laboratories and hospitals took time to report recoveries due to different data systems, but now have a more accurate count.
