Philippines hosts EAP Public Procurement Conference April 28-30

The Philippines will host the East Asia and Pacific International Public Procurement Conference from April 28-30 in Manila.

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. will lead the opening ceremony, with over 150 procurement experts and officials from 15 countries expected to attend.

Co-organized by the Department of Budget and Management (DBM), the Government Procurement Policy Board - Technical Support Office (GPPB-TSO), and the World Bank, the conference aims to promote regional collaboration on procurement modernization.

The event will feature plenary sessions, panel discussions, and case studies focusing on accountability, inclusion, and sustainable public spending.

DBM Secretary Amenah Pangandaman emphasized that the New Government Procurement Act (NGPA) is a significant anti-corruption measure, fostering transparency and value for money in government procurement.

The NGPA implementing rules and regulations were approved and finalized in a meeting led by the DBM and GPPB-TSO on February 4.
