Philippines approves Johnson & Johnson, Bharat Biotech COVID-19 vaccines

The Philippines Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has granted emergency use authorization for Johnson & Johnson's Janssen and India's Bharat Biotech COVID-19 vaccines.

Both vaccines are approved for individuals aged 18 and above in the Philippines, with Bharat needing to submit one more document before importation can begin.

US experts are investigating seven cases of blood clots out of seven million people vaccinated with Janssen, prompting the FDA to urge the Department of Health (DOH) to provide clear guidelines for its rollout.
