Philippines expands durian production after $260M deal with China

Philippines will expand its durian production following a $260 million export deal with Chinese firms.

Chinese companies such as Dole (Shanghai), Prestige International Co., Shanghai Goodfarmer Group, and Dashang Group have committed to purchase fresh durian from the Philippines in 2023.

The Department of Agriculture aims for this project to generate at least 10,000 direct and indirect jobs and maintain a good relationship with China.
