Philippines donates aid to Gaza through Jordanian Consulate

The Philippines has offered humanitarian aid to Gaza to support those affected by the ongoing crisis.

On Friday, Office of Civil Defense (OCD) Administrator Undersecretary Ariel Nepomuceno handed over essential supplies, including 8,323 bonnets, 3,187 pairs of gloves, and 20 blankets, to the Jordanian Consulate for the Humanitarian Air Bridge Campaign.

The donation ceremony was attended by officials from the Jordanian Honorary Consulate and the Department of Foreign Affairs at the NDRRMC Operations Center in Camp General Emilio Aguinaldo.

Nepomuceno emphasized the importance of international cooperation, stating that it is an honor to gather with partners as they officially recognize the Philippines' contribution to the Humanitarian Air Bridge Campaign organized by the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

The conflict in Gaza since October 2023 has led to a severe humanitarian crisis, prompting the recent ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas in January, and thousands of Palestinians displaced by the war have started returning home despite ongoing challenges such as lack of electricity and basic supplies.
