PH extends travel ban on over 35 countries until January 31

The Philippines has extended travel restrictions on foreign travelers from over 35 countries until January 31 to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus variant.

Initially, the ban covered 30 countries including the UK, Denmark, Ireland, Japan, Australia, Israel, Netherlands, China (including Hong Kong), Switzerland, France, Germany, Iceland, Italy, Lebanon, Singapore, Sweden, South Korea, South Africa, Canada, Spain, US, Portugal, India, Finland, Norway, Jordan, Brazil, Austria, Pakistan, Jamaica, Luxembourg, and Oman.

Recently, the list was updated to include Hungary, UAE, and Czech Republic following positive cases of the variant in these countries.

Filipinos are allowed entry but must undergo a strict 14-day quarantine regardless of negative test results.
