Philippine, US navies conduct bilateral sail off Palawan

The Philippine Navy and the United States Navy are conducting a bilateral sail in Palawan waters to enhance operational interoperability.

The exercise involves the Philippine Navy's guided-missile frigate BRP Jose Rizal and the US Navy's Arleigh Burke-class guided missile-destroyer USS Ralph Johnson, under the Mutual Defense Board-Security Engagement Board framework.

This activity aims to develop maritime cooperation between the two navies in light of recent tensions over China's territorial claims in the West Philippine Sea.
