PhilHealth aims to settle PRC balance this month

PhilHealth aims to settle a nearly P1 billion balance with the Philippine Red Cross this month to resume COVID-19 tests chargeable to PhilHealth.

The Red Cross halted these tests due to an unpaid debt of over P930 million, affecting testing capacity in the country.

Specimens that were previously sent to the Red Cross for testing have been redirected to larger laboratories as a temporary solution.

National Action Plan against COVID-19 deputy chief Vince Dizon expects a decrease in testing output until the issue is resolved.
