Philippine player Carl Tamayo helps Changwon win KBL title

Philippine basketball player Carl Tamayo helped Changwon LG Sakers secure their first Korean Basketball League (KBL) championship with a 62-58 win over Seoul SK Knights on Saturday at the Jamsil Student Gymnasium.

Changwon won Game 7 to clinch the title, avoiding a reverse-sweep loss after losing three consecutive games following a 3-0 lead in the series.

Tamayo recorded a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds along with two assists and two steals in over 35 minutes of play, crucial for Changwon's victory.

This marks Tamayo's fourth professional title, having previously won with Ryukyu Golden Kings in the Japan B. League last year and now adding Changwon LG Sakers to his list of championship-winning teams.

Kim Jae-hyeon led Changwon's offense with 12 points and three steals in Game 7, contributing significantly to their victory.
