Philippine Navy completes RORE missions for WPS troops

The Philippine Navy completed rotation and reprovisioning (RORE) missions for Filipino troops manning nine features in the West Philippine Sea (WPS) from December 3 to 14, ensuring a smooth holiday season.

During these operations, Rear Admiral Roy Vincent Trinidad reported no untoward incidents but noted the presence of two Chinese Coast Guard and two PLA Navy ships near Ayungin Shoal without any illegal or coercive actions.

The RORE missions involved various AFP assets, including different types of ships to cater to the nine distinct features in the WPS.

Trinidad highlighted that troops received Noche Buena (Christmas Eve) packages as part of the successful completion of the mission and noted high morale among military officers performing their duties without fanfare.

From January 1 to December 16, the Philippine Navy conducted over 300 maritime sovereignty and surveillance patrol missions, more than 100 air surveillance flights, and over 60 RORE missions in the WPS.
