Philippine Embassy advises Filipinos to avoid travel in parts of Kashmir

The Philippine Embassy in Pakistan advised Filipinos to avoid travel to parts of Kashmir administered by Pakistan following recent missile strikes by India.

Specific areas under the advisory include Bhimber City, Azad Kashmir, Sialkot near the Line of Control, and within five miles of the India-Pakistan border.

India launched 'Operation Sindoor' in response to a terror attack that killed 7 people in Pahalgam last April 22.

The Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO) reported at least 371 permanent Filipino migrants across India and 77 in Pakistan, urging travelers and residents to exercise caution near the border zones.

Filipino nationals are advised to stay indoors, monitor official updates, avoid public gatherings, and keep emergency supplies ready.

Both countries have expelled each other's diplomats amid escalating tensions, with Pakistan declaring India's actions an act of war.

The DFA continues to closely monitor the situation and has contingency plans in place for any potential worsening of the crisis.
