Philippine authorities arrest South Korean with PHP7.1M worth of Ketamine at NAIA

On Tuesday, Philippine authorities arrested a South Korean national at Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 2 and seized PHP7.1 million worth of illegal drugs.

The suspect, alias 'Han,' was about to board a Cebu-bound flight when the NAIA Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group flagged his backpack during final screening.

Inside the bag, authorities found around 1,430 grams of suspected Ketamine and other items like toiletries, snacks, travel documents, and electronic devices.

The confiscated drugs are currently undergoing confirmatory testing at the PDEA Laboratory Service while 'Han' faces inquest proceedings for attempting to transport dangerous drugs.

This operation underscores the government's commitment to combating illegal drug activities and enhancing border security as per President Marcos Jr.'s directive.
