PhilHealth raises dialysis benefits to PHP4,000

Patients praised the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) for increasing dialysis benefits from PHP2,600 to PHP4,000 as part of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s pro-poor policy.

The increase was approved by PhilHealth CEO Emmanuel Ledesma Jr. and Health Secretary Teodoro Herbosa following a request from House Speaker Martin Romualdez.

Gerwin Acepcion Castor and 17-year-old Jamaica Mutia Del Rosario highlighted the financial relief this benefit provides, helping cover additional costs such as co-pays, injections, and dialyzers.

House Speaker Romualdez emphasized that the higher benefit will assist more than one million Filipinos undergoing dialysis by reducing their out-of-pocket expenses even in private health facilities.

PhilHealth's adjustment supports President Marcos's goal to provide free healthcare for poor Filipinos under the Universal Health Care Law.
