PhilHealth: Data, premiums unaffected by ransomware attack

PhilHealth announced on Monday that its membership database, including contributions and claims, were unaffected by a recent ransomware attack.

The attack only compromised employee workstations in Pasig City; PhilHealth's separate database server remains secure.

As of September 29, the PhilHealth website and member portal were back online after being shut down since September 22 due to the Medusa ransomware attack.

PhilHealth assured members that their benefit entitlements would not be affected and stated they will not pay the demanded P17 million ransom.

The corporation is working to reinforce its cybersecurity systems to prevent future attacks.
