PhilCo invests PHP1B in coconut processing plant in Misamis Oriental

PhilCo Food Processing, Inc., a subsidiary of Thailand’s World Group of Companies, is investing over PHP1 billion in a coconut processing facility within the Phividec Industrial Estate in Misamis Oriental.

The Philippine Economic Zone Authority (Peza) has registered the project and announced that construction will begin in October 2025 with commercial operations starting between December 2025 and January 2026.

PhilCo signed a 20-year lease agreement on April 11 for a 39,596-square-meter parcel of land within the industrial estate, paying an initial annual lease of P6.33 million with a 5% increase each year.

The factory will produce 78,000 tons of ultra-high temperature coconut milk annually and frozen coconut meat for export to Thailand, Europe, and the United States.

The facility is expected to create around 2,500 jobs and provide an additional market for coconut farmers in northern Mindanao and nearby provinces.
