PH reports under 5,000 COVID cases for 10th day

The Philippines reported under 5,000 COVID-19 cases for the tenth consecutive day on Friday, bringing the total number of infections since 2020 to 3.6 million.

On Friday, there were 2,232 new infections with a positivity rate of 9.1%, above the WHO threshold of 5%. The death toll reached 55,409 after 79 more deaths were recorded.

Active cases stood at 65,796, with most being mild (60,252) and moderate (2,869). Critical cases numbered 307. Metro Manila had the highest number of new infections in the past two weeks, followed by Calabarzon and Central Visayas.
