PH has no XBB case; expert warns of entry risk

The Philippines has not detected the XBB Omicron subvariant so far, according to the DOH.

An infectious disease expert warns that with open borders, there is a possibility of XBB entering the country due to daily flights from Singapore where cases are surging.

Preliminary studies suggest XBB shows higher immune evasion ability than BA.5 and the DOH continues surveillance for emerging variants.
