AFP, German forces boost military cooperation at Munich Security Conference

The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and German Armed Forces reinforced their military cooperation during high-level discussions at the Munich Security Conference on February 14.

Gen. Romeo Brawner Jr., AFP Chief of Staff, and Bundeswehr chief Gen. Carsten Breuer committed to expanding collaboration in areas like cyber warfare, military education and training, and maritime activities.

The engagement aims to improve interoperability and capabilities in addressing shared security challenges, aligning with the Philippines' broader efforts to fortify international defense partnerships.

Both sides highlighted the importance of strengthening cooperation to enhance regional stability amid ongoing tensions in the West Philippine Sea due to China's recent activities.
