PFP official kidnapped, killed in Maguindanao

On Monday, April 8, villagers in Pandag, Maguindanao del Sur, discovered the body of Modesto Delfinado Tamayo Jr., a municipal coordinator for the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas who was kidnapped two days earlier.

Tamayo, aged 57, was abducted from his residence in President Quirino, Sultan Kudarat, by gunmen in a white Hi-Ace van and found dead with multiple stab wounds on Wednesday noon.

The body of Tamayo was discovered in a roadside rice field in Barangay Malangit, Pandag, after he attended a political rally hours before being abducted from his home.

Ranking officials from police and military units confirmed the details to reporters, while Capt. Anthony Basañez reported the incident to the Maguindanao del Sur Provincial Police Office.

Leaders of the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas in the Bangsamoro region and Region 12 condemned the murder and called for swift justice against those responsible.
