Philippines inflation eases to 4.1% in June

The Philippines' inflation rate eased to 4.1% in June from 4.5% in May, according to the Philippine Statistics Authority.

Fuel and transport costs decelerated, with tricycle fares slightly decreasing due to a base effect from last year's higher prices during the pandemic.

Average inflation for the first six months of 2021 was 4.4%, still above the target band of 2% to 4%.

Transport costs increased at a slower pace in June, with tricycle fares at P18.60 compared to P17.20 in May.
